Unavenged is a fighting game developed by Netherrealm studios and starring characters based on the Marvel Comics, it takes place in an alternate universe where after the red skull nuked New York which led to Iron Man taking totalitarian rule of the earth. Captain America Created a Rebellion against Iron Man's rule, eventually Captain America brings over the heroes of the main Universe to help him but also accidentally brings over there universe's Red Skull
the five years in between the events of Iron man's regime forming to the events of the game where told in the Unavenged comic, it detailed parts like: it turning out Red Skull used Hologram technology to trick Iron man into accidently killing Pepper making him see Hulk, The Deaths of bucky, this universes hawkeye, and Edwin Jarvis, and the fall of Tony Stark. although there are a few continuity issues between the comic and the first game, these issue will become even more apparent in Unavenged 2.[]
